A build up of earwax can cause symptoms of hearing loss, discomfort, Tinnitus (ringing in ears) and Vertigo. It can also interfere with the optimal function of hearing instruments, for example a hearing aid. Excess earwax can be removed by two different methods, Microsuction or Water Based Irrigation. The option used often depends on a persons medical history and the presentation of wax in the ear canal. Sometimes both methods are required. Apply olive oil drops to the affected ear/s twice a day for at least three days to soften the wax prior to wax removal.
